And it becomes a jack-o-lantern

After the pumpkin patch we headed over to our friends Paul & Shanda (and Aaron)’s house for a pumpkin carving party. Our fabulous pumpkin turned into a jack-o-lantern in a matter of minutes, thanks to Jason’s stellar scooping abilities. Eric wasn’t very interested in the carving business and managed to occupy himself by rolling cans of chicken soup across the kitchen floor.

It's a pumpkin!

Last weekend we visited a local pumpkin patch with our playgroup. Eric rode the train, watched the donkeys, checked out the chickens, got frightened by the geese and picked out a fabulous pumpkin!

The Children's Discovery Museum

About a month ago we bought a family membership to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. So far it's been well worth the investment since we've already been back two times. Eric and I met our friends Zach and Michele this afternoon for some fun in the toddler area. Here, Eric is playing with an activity that uses compressed air to move a ball through a tube and then deposits on top of a track and lets gravity do the rest. (You can see our friend Zach is headed off to do something else.) There's so much to see in the toddler area that we haven't even explored the rest of the museum!

The Sippy Cups Concert

References to the band The Sippy Cups had popped up in a couple different places and so I decided it was time that we check them out. Jason, Eric & I hopped in the car and drove to the Cubberly Community Center in Palo Alto on Sunday to attend the 1 pm show (we tried to get tickets for the 4 pm concert, but it was sold out!). Filled with bright colors, crazy props, silly antics and kid-friendly music the show was a hit with Eric and the other hundred or so kids in attendance. Check out thesippycups.com for detailed band info.

Tio Adam Visits

Adam came for a quick 2-day visit and just left this morning. Though we didn't do anything exceptional, it was really nice to be able to hang out and spend time catching up. Eric always loves seeing his tio! (He's taking some pointers on how to raise a dog, so when the time comes he'll be able to convince his mom & dad that it won't be too much trouble.)

Eric's First Big Trip -- Kauai

First time on an airplane. First time to Kauai. Definitely a born traveler, Eric seemed to enjoy seeing the beautiful scenery of Kauai. He especially loved the colorful flowers and the many chickens that roamed the island. It was a special treat to travel with Grandma & Grandpa Musicer!

Our cousins

We stopped by Barry & Madge's for a quick visit while we were in LA. Eric got to meet his new cousins and we got to see how Isabel & Melissa had grown since the last time we saw them.

Tito's Tacos

A trip to LA just isn't complete without a stop at Tito's. On our way to drop Jason off at Aaron's wedding rehearsal, we made a Tito's visit.
