Sitting Up

As you can see from the last picture and this one, Eric is working on perfecting sitting up. He can sit for a few minutes on his own until he reaches for something slightly beyond his grasp and then loses his balance. He has made a lot of progress and is getting more steady every day.

Pediatrician Update

We went to see the pediatrician Tuesday and here are the results...Weight: 16.4 pounds; Height: 26 3/4 inches. All seems to be going well. Eric's doing fine in the weight arena, though slowed down some since his last couple visits. Hopefully with the introduction of solids he'll continue to put on weight and taper off spitting up as much -- our washing machine could use the break! As for height, he's above 50% right now.

1st time bowling

Last Sunday we went bowling to celebrate Jason's birthday. Eric had fun being passed from one person to the next as we took our turns bowling. He even bowled for the first time with our friend Guy!

New Years Eve

2005 was a big year for this little one! He was pooped (figuratively & literally), so celebrating in true Katz fashion, Eric went to sleep on Paul & Shanda's bed and slept the night away.

1st Hockey Game

On December 30, 2005 we went to HP Pavilion to celebrate our friend Paul's 30th birthday party. Paul's wife Shanda rented out a box and we enjoyed the SJ Sharks game while eating and drinking in a private room. Eric watched the first five minutes of the game and then slept like a champ in his stroller for the rest of the game, allowing Mom & Dad to have a "night out" without actually leaving him.

Starting Solids

We started Eric on solids in December and so far he's been lucky enough to try rice cereal AND oatmeal! He doesn't seem to prefer one over the other and most days he uses his tongue to push out whatever we try to shove in. Typically more food ends up on his face than in his stomach, but we keep telling ourselves that he'll eventually get the hang of it.
