The Jumperoo

Thanks to our friends Rachel & Katie from Las Madres, Eric has been thoroughly enjoying time in his borrowed Jumperoo bouncer. He absolutely loves being in it and jumps to his heart's content.

Kaia's First Birthday Party

In honor of our friend Kaia's first birthday, we spent the day at the park on Saturday. Eric enjoyed playing in the sand, sliding down the slide with Jason and watching the older kids run around.

Our Little Monkey

Though still working on mastering the art of eating solid foods, Eric is
making quite a bit of progress.

At the park

After two months of nearly consistent rainfall, we were eager to get out and enjoy the sunshine on one of the first nice days in a long time. We headed out to the park to spend time with our friends Brianna & Tara. Here Eric hangs out on one of the play structures while we wait for our friends to arrive.

9 Months...already?

After attempting to measure Eric's height three times, the nurse finally wrote down 27 inches. He weighed in at 18 lbs. 13.5 ozs. According to our reading of the charts Eric is at about the 25th percentile for both weight and height. The doctor says he's close to the 50th percentile. Either way we know the kid eats and that he's growing. In the last week he's been rolling over from back to front. Quite an accomplishment, but he often complains because he isn't too keen about being on his stomach. He hasn't figured out a way to get from his stomach to his back. Maybe next month...

Janet visits

Last week our good friend Janet came to visit. She arrived on Thursday night from LA and on Friday we drove to Santa Cruz to visit her cousin Jeff (aka Jeffrey). We ate lunch on campus at UCSC and then walked around a bit. It was quite windy and overcast (Jeff was dressed in a t-shirt and shorts. What was he thinking?), though very woodsy and beautiful nonetheless.

Gabe's Bar Mitzvah

The first weekend in April was a big family weekend. Grandma & Grandpa Katz, along with Aunt Sherrie and cousins Ylla & Leonard, came up from LA to celebrate cousin Gabe's bar mitzvah in Santa Cruz. Not only did we spend time with family on Saturday during the bar mitzvah, but we also hung out at cousin Karen's house on Sunday. Here Eric is playing with Gabe and his good friend Riley. Karen looks on.

Children's Discovery Museum

On March 28, Eric and I went to the San Jose Children's Discovery Museum with our friends Kaia & Marcee. The museum is very hands-on and it has a wonderful toddler area upstairs with different activities for the littlest of people. Unfortunately Eric didn't take his morning nap on that day, so he didn't get to enjoy it as much as if he had been well-rested. It's close enough that we'll surely visit again a number of times in the coming year. In the picture, Eric is standing up by holding onto one of the boxes from a beautiful alphabet exhibit that has different objects inside the boxes (they rotate) to represent each letter.
