It had been a while...

since we were at the Discovery Museum, so we decided to go last week. We invited our friends Shanda & Aaron (and Aaron's grandma) to join us on Tuesday. Eric & Aaron had a blast exploring the museum and spent a good amount of time in the Alice & Wonderland exhibit. Aaron left early for his nap, but Eric continued to play and really enjoyed the water exhibit where he discovered the big kids' area. It has pipes that send plastic balls launching into the air and then into the water, which he got a kick out of.

Janet Meets Talia

Janet came to visit for a few days at the end of July. We mainly filled our days with naps, feedings and diaper changes, but we did manage to spend one morning at Hakone Gardens and another having lunch and walking around Los Gatos after music class. As you can see here, Janet joined Eric & Talia at their Music Together class on Friday morning. We loved having Janet visit, though we're sure she was happy she got to go home to a quiet house!

Blair & Molly Meet Talia

Blair & Molly came to stay with us for a few days. They got to meet Talia and hang out with us. Eric loved playing with Molly -- they blew bubbles, played at the park, went swimming, sang songs, made ice cream and read books together. It was *so* nice to see them, and we were grateful for Blair's extra hands!

Tio Adam & Tia Carla Meet Talia

Adam & Clara came to visit in mid-July. We loved having them visit and wish they could have stayed longer.

Eric's 3rd Birthday Party

We had a big party for Eric on July 5 to celebrate his third birthday. With friends and family filling the house and backyard, the kids (and adults!) played with punch balloons, crawled through tunnels, climbed the structure, played with toys, made foam gliders and pin wheels, designed dinosaur sticker sheets and ate plenty of pizza & cake!

Rose Garden 4th of July Parade

Our friends invited us to join them in their neighborhood for the 1st Annual Rose Garden 4th of July Parade. It was a small parade with local floats, bands, etc. Eric seemed to enjoy himself a lot - he got a little American flag; red, white & blue beads and his very first Otter Pop!

First in-home photo shoot

Using the black material I bought way back when Eric was a baby, I gave Talia her first in-home photo shoot on the first of July. This is by far the best one of the day.

He's such a big kid!

You may want to click on the "August 2007" link under archives to really see how much Eric has grown. It still amazes me...

Family Time

It seems like we've been spending a lot of time on the couch lately -- with breastfeeding and Family Reading Time, it's been a constant backdrop.

Check 'em out

It's hard to believe Eric was as small as Talia once upon a time. He loves his little sister a ton and is always looking out for her.

Lynn visits

Our friend Lynn came to visit and meet Talia for the first time on June 8. She joined us for dinner -- burgers on our new grill. She sewed Talia a beautiful quilt that she'll be able to use for years.

At three weeks

Here's Talia at three weeks.

Here she is!

Making her arrival on our anniversary, Talia, came into this world a healthy baby girl weighing 8 pounds, 5 ounces.

Look, Ma! Shaving cream!

Passover

I'm very behind on this blog, but I guess I have a pretty good reason for that these days. Her name's Talia. We'll get to her eventually...

Until then, here's a recap of what we were doing up until her arrival. We spent Passover at our friends Diana, Dewey, Harrison & Aviva's house. We had a very abbreviated service followed by some traditional tastes and Diana's mom's matzah casserole. Here Eric samples the matzah ball soup.
